Steric’s 2025 APCO Annual Report & Action Plan: Progressing Towards Sustainable Packaging

At Steric, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a responsibility. As part of our ongoing commitment to the environment and in alignment with the 2025 National Packaging Targets, we’re proud to share our latest milestone: the submission of our 2025 APCO Annual Report and Action Plan.

This yearly report, required by the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), outlines how we’re working toward a circular economy for packaging in Australia—minimising waste, improving recyclability, and increasing the use of recycled content across our product lines.

Highlights from Our 2025 Report:

  • We’ve completed the transition to clear, recyclable PET for our lemon & lime juice bottles—making 336 tonnes of PET fully recyclable.
  • We’re launching recyclable film for our WOW Taco Seasoning—two years in the making.
  • An awning has been built at our warehouse to protect bottles and extend packaging life.
  • We’re in the process of installing a resin mixing system to introduce 30% recycled content into our PET bottles.

Action Plan Commitments Include:

  • Designing packaging for material efficiency and recovery
  • Incorporating recycled materials into 48% of our packaging
  • Ensuring 100% of our packaging includes correct disposal labelling
  • Diverting 26% of our on-site waste from landfill
  • Phasing out problematic and unnecessary plastics

Steric’s performance rating has progressed to “Advanced”, reflecting our tangible action and continued dedication to sustainable packaging practices.

This journey is a collective one—and we thank our teams, partners, and customers for supporting this mission every step of the way.
